PERSONA: Well-mannered, silver-tongued, level-headed the majority of the time, strict (wants things done her way, and done right), independent, loyal to her followers and to anyone who is genuinely faithful to her, vindictive, ruthless in her means.
PAST: Born as Sasaki Sanako, the daughter of a disgraced noble house from the Edo era who eventually become the renowned mistress of Hidaka Misao, head of the largest growing crime syndicate of the time. Not much before her time as Hidaka's mistress is known, or how she even came to be in his company, only that she was obviously raised to be a proper noblewoman, and that wiggled her way into the yakuza life and adjusted with freighting efficiency. A year after she met him, she married him. And three years after she married him, Hidaka Misao died…or was killed. The details around his death were always incredibly vague, and many assume Sanako killed him - especially seeing as he named her successor to his underground empire. There was nothing short of a civil war about this amongst the group, but now, five years after his death, everything has settled down and the Hidaka group is working like a well-oiled machine under the watchful eye of its Lady.

RYUUJIN, AOKI BRANCH HEAD  Age: 24 Race: Human Gender: Male Real Name: Fujita Kin IMAGES: CLICK FOR GALLERY
PERSONA: Sophisticated, quiet and calculating, stoic, the chessmaster, merciless in many things he does, ambitious, unforgiving to anyone who wrongs him in any way, impressed by very few things, has no issues dirtying his hands (but always has someone ready to frame just in case) -- despite all this, is usually very at keeping his word & loyal to his 'family'.
PAST: His original name was Fujita Kin, born into an offshoot branch of the Aoki family, but taken in by his 'uncle', who was a higher up in the main branch, when he was in his mid-teens, after his parents were killed in an attack by a demon on his hometown. He adjusted to the cutthroat syndicate life at an alarming pace, and when his uncle was assassinated in a nasty territory war, Ryuujin headed the vengeance that quelled the rival crime syndicate - making him a shoe-in for the next leader, despite being obscenely young for the slot at the time - only nineteen. The Aoki branch has always been seen as ruthless, but since Ryuujin took over, it seems even moreso…some people suspect the young man would stage a coup to take over, even - if Hidaka hadn't somehow managed to earn some form of begrudging respect out of him.

PERSONA: Apathetic, extremely prideful, almost painfully humorless, dedicated, hard-working, relentless, dignified, very socially adept, takes his job and his position as the head of his branch very seriously.
PAST: Born and raised in the underground lifestyle, as well as with a pride for his name due to the fact it was feared by many, Shigeru was groomed to become a crime lord from day one of his life. He made his father proud, too, as he jumped right into it - he became second-in-command of the Kimura branch at age twenty-two, and took head of the ranch at twenty-five when his father stepped down gracefully - claiming to be becoming too old for this. Shigeru has been an admirably effective branch head thus far, even if he was one of the few who supported Lady Hidaka when she took over leadership - which, for a time, was a bad thing, but now it's gained him massive favor from many others to know his loyalty is so strong.
